If you are planning on going and just want to ride up with us then you are more then welcome for no cost, maybe a few bucks if you want us to haul your stuff. If you are looking for a spot to camp, we have a spot ½ block off of the main drag where it all happens right behind the Broken Spoke Saloon for only $200.00 for the entire week. There will be a support vehicle traveling with us so you can bring all the gear you would like and not have to carry it on the bike. Feel free to purchase whatever you like at the rally; we’ll haul it back for you.

We have a local guide that gets us into whatever venue we want and we do daily rides all through the black hills for no cost each day of the trip. If you want to ride that day then just get up and go with us, if you just feel like taking a day to bum around the vendors and shop then that is cool too. You need to purchase tickets separately for whatever concerts you would like to attend.

Females without a bike are welcome join us and ride with one of the guys (there will be plenty of volunteers) or ride in the support vehicle. There are several ladies joining us already this trip so it will not just be you and twenty guys.

Can’t make it the whole trip? We can haul your stuff up there and back and you can meet us there or leave the rally early whatever the case may be.

Contact me at Barclay.Mead@itsTopeka.com and I will give you all of the details.

START Topeka, KS - Sat. Aug. 1st – Leave at Dawn

Dear Ms. Magda,
I’m a 22 year old engaged woman. I love my fiancé very much. We are compatible in so many ways. [Jim] is smart, funny, and a good Christian like myself, in every way but one.

Ms. Magda, Jim wants us to have sex with another woman. I can’t say the idea disgusts me, but I do worry about what God would say. I love Jim with all my heart and don’t want to hurt or lose him. What should I do?

Confused in Topeka.

An unassuming little Vietnamese restaurant whose charm comes from a clean establishment, great food and unobtrusive service.

I can only rave about my experience at SAI GON Vietnamese restaurant, 3200 SW 29th Street in Topeka. My companion and I ate lunch there Thursday and were extremely impressed with the quality of their food and service. The odd but pleasing Vietnamese pop music they were playing added a nice touch.

WHAT AM I GONNA DO--Song Lyrics Copyright 2004

WHAT AM I GONNA DO

I know that you've been a using me
I can see it in those eyes
So now whenever I talk to you
All I can hear is your lies

At first I thought you were working
When you'ld run in your room to hide
You didn't even acknowledge me
When I said I love you & good night

The question I received for our next article is regarding a disease process that many joke about, but don’t really understand. The disease I am talking about is Alzheimer’s. Our fellow Topekan was curious regarding testing for Alzheimer’s disease. Without more information, I am making an assumption that it is in regards to diagnosis. So, that is what I chose to touch on briefly. However, if you have any questions, you can contact me, or include it in the comments and I will address in the next article.

Sun Resort Tanning and Fitness presents
Feminine Desert: Paintumentary by local artist Michelle Leivan

TOPEKA, KANSAS- January 2, 2009 - Sun Resort Tanning and Fitness presents Feminine Desert: Paintumentary by local Artist Michelle Leivan. The exhibit will open on January 2, 2009 during the First Friday Art Walk 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Sun Resort Tanning and Fitness at the 1301 Gage location in Topeka, Kansas and will run through the month of February.

About the Series:
"Feminine Desert: Paintumentary" is a series of paintings and prose based on the perception duality many young women present to the world. The conflict of the independence they believe they portray versus the true co-dependency they actually exhibit to the world, a contradiction they are too often unable to recognize.

Each piece is dominated by abstract human figures. The pallet used allows expression of the human form in a multicultural, non-ethnic specific tone, capturing the universal aspect of humanity. Notable the use of color creates a striking contrast to the expected outcome in portraiture.

The imagery, commentary and call to action that Feminine Desert presents is for young women to find love within rather than seeking approval from others. The message encourages the seeking of inner beauty which will only enhance the great looks the customers reap through Sun Resorts Tanning and Fitness' services.

The Inspiration
As young women I watched my sister-in-laws struggle with co-dependency issues. I believe many young women, including myself, at some point in our lives have a tendency to please others and are eager for self sacrifice and believe we are happy if the people in our lives are happy with us.

My in-laws and I spent many evenings in long discussions about their relationship choices and their desire to define themselves through other's eyes. I ached to witness their lives filled with disappointment and tough affairs of the heart. I sought relief and turned to my art to sort out my own anguish I began painting the series.

One evening I was nearly done with the current twenty pieces and I had another long night talking about relationship disillusionment with one of these young women. During the drive home I mulled over the long debates. I found my inspiration to complete the series. As soon as I got home, in a flurry of creativity wrote all of the accompanying prose for this series. What developed was an intricate intertwining of imagery, prose and use of anagram within each title to create a message which mimics the complexity of co-dependency. I hope that the message will encourage women of all ages to find love within and discover their inner freedom and beauty.

Please come help us remember Eric and give the family a hand. You will make a lot of new friends, and come away feeling you knew Eric, even if you didn't before.

Thanks for caring,
